Ben Jeanneret calls this curiously named wine 'Rank & File'. It's what Shiraz represents to him - the heart and soul of the Australian wine industry. Sourced from five different vineyards, all but one from the northern part of the Clare Valley, the fruit for this wine was matured in a mixture of French and American oak of which 16% was new.

Another extravagantly rich, massively concentrated Shiraz from Jeanneret that’s overflowing with big lavish fruit flavours

Magnificent impenetrable inky black colour with a very deep black dark purple hue. Still showing signs of youthfulness the nose offers up intense aromatics of liquorice, black cherries and freshly crushed blackberries with an overlay of lightly smoked vanillin cedar and inky pepper end notes. Thick and rich in texture, and massively weighted the palate is an explosion of succulent fruit that fills every corner of the mouth. Liquorice, ripe blackberries, dark plum and black cherries overlay lightly toasted vanillin cedar, pen ink and blackpepper characters. Firmly built, yet velvet like tannins. Outstanding power and richness finishing with a very long aftertaste of liquorice, ripe blackberries, inky black cherry, vanillin cedar and spicy pepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
