Izway is partnership of two well-travelled winemakers Brian Conway and Craig Isbel. They like to keep things simple and minimalistic in the winemaking process putting a real emphasis on fruit purity and to this point use mostly older oak. So named as a tribute to two of the boys grandparents, the 2014 Rob & Les is sourced from John, Barb and Andy Kalleske’s Koonunga Hillside Vineyard in the north of the Barossa Valley.

A rich and seductive, plushly textured Barossa Shiraz.

Fantastic colour saturation featuring an impenetrable midnight black core with a very deep dark purple black hue. Attractive dark plum and liquorice aromas overlay some blackberry, lightly toasted cedar and spicy vanilla. Dense, opulent and rich waves of ripe dark plum, liquorice and more subtle black cherry fruit cascade across the palate with underlying nuances of fennel and spicy vanillin cedar also evident. Plush sumptuous textural feel with satiny tannins. Long seductive aftertaste of ripe dark plum, blackberries, liquorice, fennel and spicy vanillin cedar.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
