Insignis is a new start up with former Wolf Blass winemaker Matt O’Leary at the helm. Utilising the resources of Green’s Vineyard famed for the production of the Kilikanoon Green’s Reserve Shiraz which sold upwards of A$80.00 per bottle and received lavish praise from American wine guru Robert Parker including several high ninety point scores. The fruit is sourced from both older (over 40 years old) and younger vines planted over different soil types to maximise complexity with maturation taking place in a mixture of new and seasoned French oak for 18 months.

With a pedigree of high end Barossa Shiraz, this bold, rich effort has an extravagant generosity of fruit that glides across the palate like liquid silk.

Impenetrable midnight black dark purple colour with a deep dark purple black tinged hue. Pronounced aromatics of liquorice, fennel and black cherries waft from the glass followed by some smoky cedar, meatiness and pepper. Rich and lusciously textured with an explosive flavour profile of liquorice and black cherries infused with fennel and smoky cedar gushing across the palate followed by peppered meat characters. Silky smooth, cashmere like tannins. Exceptional power and length with a very long aftertaste of liquorice, fennel, black cherries, smoky cedar, dried meats and pepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.5%
