2014 Hurley Vineyard Lodestone Pinot Noir

This is the lightest and most elegant of the 2014 Hurley Pinots with maturation taking place in French oak casks (on third new) for 18 months. Semi translucent bright dark red colour with a dark crimson hue. Perfumed aromas of delicate violets intermixed with red and dark cherries, and strawberry jam overlay some anise, toasty oak and spice. Rich and savoury the palate has delicious flavours of ripe dark cherries and strawberries with a dash of sour cherries also thrown in followed by some subtle meaty characters, cedar and spicy dried herbs. Bright finish with finely grained tannins. Aftertaste of ripe red cherries, strawberries, some meaty earth like characters and spicy cedar.
