2014 Hentley Farm The Beauty Shiraz

This Shiraz was co-fermented with 3% Viognier and matured in a combination of new (40%) and old French barrels for 18 months. Superb totally opaque black purple colour with a deep very dark purple hue. Pronounced aromatics of liquorice, ripe black cherries and blackberries overlay smoky vanillin cedar with blackpepper end notes. Rich and full bodied yet possessing a refined mouthfeel the palate delivers flavours of liquorice, ripe black cherries and blackberries over vanillin cedar and a subtle meatiness with a peppery finish. Very fine grained yet solidly built tannin structure. Long aftertaste of blackpepper, liquorice, black cherries, spicy vanillin cedar and a touch of dried meats.
