A blend of 76% Shiraz and 24% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from vines between 30-130 years old. Maturation took place in 100% new oak of which 92% was French and 8% American for a period of 16 months.
Impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red-black hue. Potent aromatics of blackberries, liquorice, ripe blackcurrant and subtle dark chocolate infusions overlay background notes of toasty vanillin oak, faint scorched earth and spice. The palate is a rich ultra-concentrated amalgam of liquorice, ripe blackberries, cassis and dark chocolate flavours that saturate every inch of the palate with underlying nuances of coffee bean, toasty vanillin oak, subtle earth and a quite spicy finish. Tremendous power and depth, the lavish nature of the fruit largely concealing the solidly built tannin structure. Exceptionally long aftertaste of liquorice, ripe blackberries, dark chocolate, coffee bean, toasty vanillin oak and spicy earth.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 15%
