Elgee Park is situated amidst the protected gentle hills of Merricks North and is considered one of the Peninsula’s warmer sites. Established in 1972 by Baillieu Myer and family, the 4.5 hectare vineyard was the first in a new era of Mornington Peninsula vineyards. The 2014 vintage was a record low crop with maturation taking place in French oak for 10 months of which 25% was new.

Rich, supple and powerful, yet elegant this is a textbook example of Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir.

Semi translucent dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. A beautifully scented nose provides the olfactory senses with a powerful whiff of violets, dark cherries and strawberries overlaying some anise, lightly toasted cedar and spice. Rich and long, succulent flavours of ripe dark cherries and strawberries laced with anise cascade across the supplely textured palate underscored by lightly toasted cedar and spice. Excellent power wave with very polished, silky smooth tannins. Long aftertaste of spicy ripe dark cherries, strawberries, subtle anise infusions and spicy cedar.
Absolutely delicious drinking now or over the next 5-6 years.
