A blend of 41% Grenache, 40% Shiraz and 19% Mourvedre. Very deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Lifted dark raspberry aromatics are followed by dark plum and liquorice with an undercard of vanillin cedar, light earth and spice. Juicy dark raspberry, plum and liquorice flavours fill the medium bodied palate which finishes with notable freshness. Also evident is faintly smoked vanillin cedar, light earth and spice. Velvety yet structural tannins combine with bright acidity to provide a solid framework. Concludes with spicy dark raspberry, plum, liquorice, vanillin cedar and subtle earth.

First tasted September 2016:
A blend of 41% Grenache, 40% Shiraz and 19% Mourvedre sourced from vines 15-40 years old with maturation taking place in old French oak puncheons for 15 months. Very deep dark red black colour with a dark red hue. Pretty scents of violet and dark raspberry overlay plum and a hint of liquorice with ensuing light spicy earth notes. Soft and elegant the palate has flavours of ripe raspberry and plum to the fore with nuances of liquorice, subtle earth and spice also evident. Velvet smooth perfectly integrated tannins. Aftertaste of dark raspberry, plum, a hint of liquorice, subtle earth and spice. A very smooth and elegant GSM blend.
Cellar 5-6 years.
