Excellent depth of colour displaying a deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Elevated aromatics of black cherries and hints of black olives are married to dried herb infusions with scorched earth, spicy cedar and stony mineral also evident. Light to medium bodied and still a touch restrained yet relatively supple in its mouthfeel the palate features savoury flavours of dark cherries that sit along side traces of sour cherries with dried herbs, a stony mineral component, lightly scorched earth and spicy cedar following on. Dryish finish with an elegant stony like mouthfeel firmed up by some faintly chalky tannins and bright acidity. Medium to long spicy aftertaste of dark cherries intermixed with hints of sour cherries, dried herbs, cedar and a crushed rock-like minerality.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 13%

Other reviews….
This is aromatically all but mute with its highly reserved nose of wild red berries that are interwoven with plenty of earth, wet stone, spice and sauvage hints. There is a wonderfully refined and seductive, even suave texture to the succulent medium weight and once again pungently mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that possess driving energy on the detailed, palate coating and gorgeously persistent finish. This is almost always the best wine in the Pavelot range and it may well be again, but the Gravains is definitely going to give it a run for its money. Drink 2026+
