2014 d'Arenberg The Dead Arm Shiraz

Magnificent saturation of colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark purple black hue. Rich blackberry, liquorice, dark plum and dark chocolate aromas lead the charge with an undercurrent of vanillin oak, faint earth and spice. Full bodied, rich opulent flavours of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark plums are underpinned by a firm structure that gives the wine a big grippy finish. Nuances of dark chocolate, vanillin cedar, earth and spice are also evident. Long chewy aftertaste of blackberries, liquorice, bitter chocolate, vanillin oak and spicy earth. A big, firmly structured Dead Arm that’s going to require a lot of patience to mellow.
