2014 Castellare di Castellina Chianti

A blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canailo. Bright dark red colour with a crimson red hue. Youthful red cherry and raspberry aromas emerge from the glass with following spicy dried herb and faint earth notes. Light and fruity the palate has flavours of ripe red cherries and more subtle raspberries over some lightly earthed cedar and spice with bright acidity on the finish. Fine grained tannins with an aftertaste of fresh red cherries, light earthy cedar and spice. It lacks complexity and the acidity needs time to integrate.
