2013 Yal Yal Rd Chardonnay

Yal Yal Estate is a new Mornington Peninsula venture with renowned winemaker Sandro Mosele at the helm. Wild fermentation took place in French oak barriques of which 20% were new and the wine was then matured for 12 months on lees.

Brilliant pale straw colour with some greenish highlights around the edges and a watery hue. Scented aromas of ripe white peaches, tropical fruits and dried honey are followed by some butterscotch and spicy nougat. Medium bodied with excellent richness and a round creamy mouthfeel counterpointed by a balanced fresh finish. Generous flavours of ripe peaches, honeycomb, light butterscotch and nougat fill the palate with some following spicy cashew. Clean dry finish. Long aftertaste of ripe peaches, honeycomb, light butterscotch, cashew and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years.

A superfine and elegant style, bred to stay. White peach, apple and melon fruit is cosseted in subtle French oak, the acidity fresh but balanced, the finish long and fine. Drink by 2021.
