2013 Yabby Lake Single Vineyard Pinot Noir

Tom Carson has produced an excellent follow up effort to the highly acclaimed 2012 vintage. Matured in French oak puncheons (20% new) for a period of 11 months. Semi translucent dark crimson red colour with a tinge of black around the edges and a dark crimson red hue. Perfumed aromas of violets interlaced with ripe dark cherries, strawberries and some anise are followed by some meaty and spicy cedar nuances. Light to medium weight the palate features ample richness along with a beautiful supple mouthfeel. Generous ripe dark cherry, strawberry and subtle anise flavours decorate the palate followed by some meatiness with spicy cedar characters on the finish. Excellent power wave with velvet smooth tannins. Long persistent aftertaste of spicy dark cherries, anise, dried meats and cedar.
