2013 Torzi Matthews Schist Rock Shiraz

Torzi Matthews entry level Shiraz is sourced from the Frost Dodger vineyard but does not utilise any of the rack dried fruit. It is aged old Frost Dodger barrels as well as seasoned French oak for a period of 16 months.

Has a textural feel of liquid silk and a delicious flavour profile

Totally opaque black crimson red colour with a dark crimson red hue. Pronounced aromas of dark plums, liquorice and ripe dark cherries are followed by some smoky cedar, a subtle meatiness and spice. Medium to full bodied, plumb and juicy with a round supple textural feel the palate features luscious flavours of dark plums, blackberries and liquorice that glide across the palate like liquid silk over a backdrop of subtlety smoked vanillin cedar and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Excellent length and richness with a long aftertaste of dark plum, blackberries, liquorice, lightly smoked vanillin cedar and spice.
Delicious drinking over the next 5-6 years.
