Produced from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Superb depth of colour displaying an opaque black core with a deep bright very dark purple hue. Refined and complex aromas of cedary blackcurrant and mulberry arise from the glass over some violets, light cigar box, faint scorched earth and spice notes. Very elegant Bordeaux like mouthfeel featuring flavours of blackcurrant, dark cherries and ripe mulberry followed by some cedary tobacco characters, earthiness and spice. Excellent length with very fine grained solidly built tannins providing the framework for the long haul. Dryish finish with a long conclusion of blackcurrant, dark cherries, cedar, earthy tobacco and spice.
Cellar 8-10 years.
Alc 13.5%

Other Reviews….
They say there is no such thing as perfection in wine, but if there was one, this has to be it. A profound offering from New Zealand’s greatest wine label, this majestic 2013 is complete. Complex aromas of cassis, dark plum, game, cedar and floral, lead to a concentrated palate that is dense and weighty while remaining delightful and delectable. The wine offers wonderful fruit richness and texture, classically structured by abundance of fine, chalky tannins. It is spectacularly refined and stylish.
100 points.
