A dark fruited, chocolatey Coonawarra Shiraz that impresses for its richness.

Totally opaque inky black colour with a deep dark red black hue. Pronounced aromas of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark chocolate are followed by vanillin oak, faint earth and spice. Full bodied this is a big rich opulent Coonawarra Shiraz in the mould of Bowen Estate. The palate is filled with concentrated flavours of dark chocolate, liquorice and blackberries over a background of spicy vanillin oak and earth. Opulent mouthfeel with velvety tannins and good underlying structure. Outstanding concentration and depth finishing long with an aftertaste of ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark chocolate, earthy vanillin cedar and spice.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.5%

Other Reviews...
This is a very good Coonawarra shiraz, speaking volumes about its variety and place, and little about its vinification, the last very sensible. The colour is bright crimson-purple through to the rim, the bouquet and palate bringing spice, pepper and French oak to the party; it is medium-bodied, its black cherry and blackberry fruits with fine-grained tannins and a reprise of the oak. Drink by 2033.
