2013 Robert Oatley McLaren Vale Shiraz

Totally opaque inky black colour with a deep dark purple black hue. Intense aromas of liquorice and black cherries are overlaid by smoky dried meat characters followed by some vanillin cedar with blackpepper end notes. Medium to full bodied and showing ample richness the palate features savoury flavours of blackberries, liquorice and black cherries with a smoky overlay and background nuances of dried meats and blackpepper. Good fleshy mouthfeel with a slightly dryish finish and very fine grained almost velvet like tannins. Long aftertaste of black cherries, liquorice, dried meats and smoky blackpepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
