This Pinot sees approximately 25-30% new French oak with maturation taking place over a 18 month period. Shows impressive depth for the varietal with a deep dark red black tinged core and a crimson red hue. Perfumed aromas of violets intermingling with ripe dark cherries, plum, strawberries and anise bound from the glass. Underlying notes of subtle meatiness and spicy cedar are also evident. Rich and possessing a superb power wave the palate is awash with ripe dark plum flavours laced with traces of anise followed by some lightly smoked cedar, a subtle meatiness and spice. The fruits succulence and generosity impart a supple like mouthfeel and the velvety tannins only add to further enhance it. Long aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, dark plum, anise and spicy lightly toasted cedar.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
