Aged for 12 months in older oak barrels. Outstanding colour displaying an inky black core with a very deep dark purple black hue. Intense ripe blackberry, dark cherry and liquorice aromas are followed by some toasty cedar and spice. The palate possesses tremendous richness and fruit purity delivering succulently textured flavours of ripe blackberries, joosy dark cherries and liquorice over some toasty oak and light earth with a spicy finish. Slightly dryish but fine grained tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of blackberries, dark cherries, liquorice, toasty oak and spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
Deep purple-crimson; a tried and true blend for Primo Estate, matured in used oak to keep the emphasis on the luscious black fruits, more so than in most prior vintages, marrying black cherry with satsuma plum and warm spices; the tannins have notes of wild herb to give the wine X-factor. Drink by 2028.
