2013 Petaluma Shiraz

Matured for 16 months in 70% new French oak and 30% 1 year old French oak.
Superb colour with an inky black core and a deep dark purple hue. Fragrant aromas of liquorice and ripe blackberries are followed by hints of dark plum, vanillin cedar and subtle pepper end notes. Ripe opulent liquorice, blackberry and black cherry flavours fill the mouth over some smoky vanillin cedar and blackpepper with a touch of heat on the finish. Solid slightly chewy tannins provide the framework with an aftertaste of liquorice, smoky vanillin cedar, subtle dried meats and blackpepper.
