2013 Neil Hahn Catharina Shiraz

Aged in 30% new French oak barrels. Impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black tinged hue. Intensely scented nose of ripe blackberries, dark chocolate and liquorice laced with toasty vanillin oak are followed by some spice end notes. Rich and concentrated with a luscious textural feel, opulent flavours of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark chocolate saturate the mouth followed by some toasty vanillin oak and spice. Sturdy yet velvet smooth tannins are largely undiscernible beneath the wealth of fruit. Long powerful aftertaste of ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark chocolate, toasty vanillin oak and spice. Rich and lavishly textured with a massive wallop of opulent fruit.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
