Personally tailored by Mr Riggs this new high end offering comes appropriately dressed in a dark blue bound presentation box that even smells like a new suit! Fruit is sourced from Ben’s own Piebald Gully vineyard in McLaren Vale whilst the Coonawarra Cabernet component comes from Weatherall vineyards. Maturation took place in a mixture of French (80%) and American (20%) oak, of which 35% was new, for a period of 2 years.

A superb blend that combines rich, opulent McLaren Vale Shiraz with the finesse and refinement of Coonawarra Cabernet.

Impenetrable black as night core with a very deep dark red black hue. Wafting out of the glass are powerful blackberry, blackcurrant and liquorice aromatics which are seamlessly melded to complexing elements of vanillin cedar, tobacco, earthy dark chocolate, dried herbs and spice. Very intense and richly flavoured, the opulently textured palate is engulfed with a mixture of ripe blackberry, blackcurrant and liquorice fruits which comfortably sit above elements of vanillin cedar, tobacco, earthy dried herbs and spice. Firm yet velvet like tannins provide admirable structure. Finishes with exceptional power and a very long blackcurrant, blackberry, liquorice, cedary tobacco, dried herb, chocolatey earth and spice aftertaste. Trophy winner at the Frankfurt International Wine Competition for best wine in show.
