2013 Maxwell Eocene Ancient Earth Shiraz

Matured in French oak for 20 months. Totally opaque displaying excellent colour saturation with an inky black core and a deep bright red black hue. Liquorice and ripe blackberry scents engulf the nostrils followed by black cherries, vanillin cedar and spice. Big, rich and structured the palate features explosive flavours of ripe black cherries, liquorice and blackberries over vanillin cedar and pepper infusions. Finishes dry with a chewy mouthfeel and a firm robust tannin structure. Superb power and concentration with a long ripe black cherry, liquorice, blackberry, vanillin cedar and blackpepper aftertaste.
