2013 Maxwell Ellen Street Shiraz

Sourced from vines planted in 1953 the Ellen Street Shiraz was matured in American and French oak barrels for 24 months. Outstanding colour saturation displaying an inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Intensely scented with liquorice and ripe blackberry aromas melding into toasty vanillin oak and mocha followed by spice end notes. Very rich and opulently fruited, yet structured the palate dishes up luscious ripe blackberry and liquorice flavours which overlay some toasty vanillin oak, touches of mocha and spice. A rugged tannin structure provides the framework for the fruit to work around. Medium to long conclusion of blackberry, liquorice, toasty vanillin oak and spice.
