2013 Maverick Twins Shiraz

The Twins Shiraz is barrel selected from parcels of all the Maverick Vineyards. Trial Hill, Old Ben, Greenock Rise and Paraview all contributed, as well as the biodynamically managed vineyard at Barossa Ridge in Vine Vale. Incorporated in the blend is an 8% Grenache component.

Superb midnight black colour with a dark purple black hue. Pronounced liquorice and ripe black cherry aromas open the account on the nose followed by some smoky oak and a subtle meatiness with blackpepper end notes. Rich mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, luscious blackberry liqueur and black cherries overlay a back drop of smoky vanillin oak, confectionary and pepper. Meaty textural feel with solid but velvet like tannins. Long liquorice, black cherry, smoky vanillin oak and pepper aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
