Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a very dark red hue. Perfumed aromas of violets, dark cherries and spicy anise incense like notes overlay some dried meats and a touch of earth. Rich and quite full bodied the palate is filled with generous flavours of ripe black cherries and dark plums over some earthy dried meat characters, anise and spicy cedar. Spicy finish with velvety tannins. Long aftertaste of ripe black cherries, spicy anise, dark plum, dried meats and earthy cedar. A big rich, weighty Pinot Noir.
Cellar 5-6 years.

Other Reviews….
Hand-picked, 30% whole bunches, 7-10 days cold soak, wild yeast fermentation to 32C, 5 days maceration, pressed direct to barrel (30% new). Ray Nadeson is a master builder of full-bodied, long-lived pinot, deep in colour, resounding with poached plum and black cherry fruit, the tannins ripe and the oak lost in the oceans of flavour. Drink by 2023.
