Each year, since the 10th century, The Carnival of Venice is celebrated in the San Marco Square, with people dancing and feasting behind elaborate and exotic masks which is where this wine takes it’s name - La Maschera (the mask).

Protected from the harsh northern European climate by the Alps, these cooler climes are somewhat similar to the coastal maritime regions of the Limestone Coast where the grapes for this wine were harvested.

Brilliant water like colour with very distinctive greenish tinge around the edges and watery hue. The nose reveals aromas of fresh pear and granny smith apple followed by some citrus and a faint hint of honeysuckle. The palate combines a nicely textured mouthfeel and fresh acidity on the finish with flavours of pear, apple, light honeysuckle and spice. Clean crisp dry finish with aftertaste of pear, honeysuckle and spice.
Drink over the next 1-2 years (2014-2016).
Alc 12.5%
