Kurtz Family Vineyards are fourth generation Barossan grape growers and vignerons of German descent. Wine maker Steve Kurtz has significant access to old vine fruit including the original vines which were planted in the 1930’s along with vineyards planted in the fifties and sixties. The 2013 Boundary Row Shiraz is prime example of Steve’s winemaking talents and was matured in a mixture of new and older French and American oak hogsheads for 24 months.

A dense, luscious Barossa Shiraz with both substance and structure.

Magnificent colour saturation with almost paint like cling to the walls of the glass. Totally opaque inky black core with a very deep black dark purple hue. Luscious scents of liquorice, ripe blackberries and dark plums fill the nostrils followed by some dark chocolate vanillin oak and spice. Rich succulent flavours of ripe blackberries, liquorice and black cherries saturate the palate with following nuances of vanillin oak and spice. Dense opulent texture with some chewiness on the finish a result of the firm robust tannin structure being the perfect foil to the rich sumptuous fruit. Superb depth and power with a very long aftertaste of black cherries, blackberries, liquorice, vanillin oak and spice.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 15%
