The fruit for this Cabernet was sourced from the Wetherall property - one of Coonawarra's best kept secrets. The family have been growing grapes for the big boys for decades from Terra Rossa blocks in the heart of Coonawarra, and the big boys have been happily making exceptional Coonawarra Reds without even a whisper as to where the grapes have come from!

With nearly 5 years bottle age under its belt and entering its prime drinking window this is an exceptional Coonawarra Cabernet for under $20 per bottle.

Impenetrable black as night core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Captivating aromas of ripe blackcurrant show great intensity with mulberry, a faint whiff of liquorice, bay leaf, subtle cedary tobacco characters and light spicy black olives all chiming in to add interest. Rich and very mouthfilling yet retaining Coonawarra’s hallmark elegance, beautifully ripened blackcurrant and dark mulberry fruits flood the medium to full bodied palate. Complexing elements of bay leaf, cedary tobacco characters, light earth and spice are also present. Texturally polished with ripe velvet like tannins. Outstanding depth and power for the price with a very lengthy finish. Superb drinking over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 14.5%
