2013 Henschke Keyneton Euphonium

A blend of 45% Shiraz, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Matured in 15% new and 85% seasoned (85% French and 15% American) oak hogsheads for 18 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Elevated aromatics of ripe blackcurrant subtlety laced with tobacco meld into some plum, blackberry and liquorice with spicy cedar end notes. Medium bodied, plush and rich the palate boasts mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry and liquorice interwoven with some subtle cedary tobacco characters. Soft mellow mouthfeel, velvety tannins and a spicy finish. Excellent power without being excessively weighty, concluding with a long spicy aftertaste of blackcurrant, blackberries, liquorice and cedary tobacco characters.
