2013 Hanging Rock Rich Reef Shiraz

The fruit for this wine has been sourced from the Bendigo and Heathcote regions with maturation taking place in a mixture of French and American oak barriques. Totally opaque inky black dark purple colour with a deep dark purple hue. Inky crushed berry aromas of blackberry and ripe dark cherries are followed by a touch of liquorice, vanillin cedar and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate boasts succulent blackberry and liquorice flavours over vanillin cedar with some pepper on the back palate. Very fine grained well integrated tannins. Medium to long liquorice, blackberry, vanillin cedar and light spicy pepper aftertaste.
