Epsilon is the project of Aaron and Julie Southern (Julie is a member of the Kalleske clan) who own vineyards in the Northern part of Barossa. As the familiar story goes with so many growers they sold off their fruit to larger wineries until a chance meeting with the Massena boys Dan Standish and Jaysen Collins. Under their guidance they convinced them to start up their own brand in 2004 and built a winery on the property. Sourced from a single vineyard the wine sees approximately 10 months in oak with only the best batches making the final blend.

A young pup with plenty of exuberance and potential.

Outstanding colour saturation displaying an inky black purple core that’s totally impenetrable followed by a deep dark purple black hue. Nosing reveals scents of ripe black cherries, liquorice and dark plums followed by some vanillin cedar and light spicy pepper end notes with the aromas gaining intensity with time in the glass. Whilst still adolescent the palate boasts superb richness and a full bodied opulent mouth feel delivering sumptuous flavours of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark plum over some vanillin cedar and spice. Slightly dryish finish with velvety polished tannins. Excellent depth and tannin acid balance. Long aftertaste of ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark plum, toasty cedar and spice.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.8%
