2013 Down to Earth Cabernets Shiraz

A blend of 55% Cabernet, 28% Shiraz and 17% Cabernet Franc aged in old oak barriques and 4000 litre French oak foudre for 15 months. Totally opaque dark red black colour with a bright dark red hue. Lifted aromas of ripe blackcurrant, blackberries and liquorice have violet overlay and are followed by subtle earthy cedar and spice. Medium bodied the palate possesses an understated richness without any sense of heaviness. Sumptuous fruit flavours of blackcurrant, blackberries and liquorice seamlessly meld into some violet infusions, spicy cedar and subtle earthy tobacco. Ripe, slightly chewy tannins. Long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, subtle liquorice, vanillin cedar, earth and spice. A beautiful fusion of all 3 varieties has resulted in a very moreish red.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
