Excellent colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark crimson red black hue. The nose offers up scents of ripe blackberries and liquorice, showing very good intensity, with an overlay of toasty vanillin cedar followed by dark chocolate and spice end notes. Generous opulently textured fruit coats the palate with rich ripe blackberry and liquorice to the fore over some dark chocolate, toasty vanillin oak and spice. Rich, plush mouthfeel with velvet smooth tannins. Long ripe blackberry, liquorice, spicy toasty oak and dark chocolate aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews....
This wine always delivers plenty of fruit, but does so in spades this vintage; it is laden with blackberry jam and bitter chocolate, and a wild card of potent tannins. Pick your meat and a starless night, and all will be well.
