2013 Black Cottage Pinot Gris

David Clouston has already earned quite a reputation for the wines made on his small estate in the heart of the Wairau Valley. His Pinot Gris is a succulent expression that will lend itself to a broad range of food matches. Brilliant apricot tinged colour with watery hue. Superb lifted nose of rose petal and lychee followed by some ripe apple with musky end notes. Rich and luscious in texture the palate delivers concentrated flavours of ripe pear, lychee and musk with some subtle spice on the medium dry finish which has some residual sugar present. Superb length with long lingering ripe pear, lychee and spice aftertaste.
