2013 Barratt Uley Vineyard Chardonnay

Sourced from 30 year old vines and fermented in new, 1 and 2 year old French oak barriques with partial secondary malolactic fermentation. Brilliant pale straw colour with tinges of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Aromas of ripe peaches, nectarine and honeycomb overlay some toasty oak with spicy butterscotch end notes. Medium bodied and showing more elegance than expected the palate has flavours of white peaches and nectarines which sit over infusions of dried honey, toasty oak and spice. Clean dry finish with good balanced fresh acidity. Aftertaste of peaches, nectarines, dried honey, toasty oak, subtle grilled nuts and spice.
