2013 Atze's Corner Eddies Old Vine Shiraz

Aged in new and seasoned French and American hogsheads with a total production of 120 cases.
Impenetrable midnight black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Intense aromatics of liquorice, ripe black cherries and blackberries jump from the glass with underlying smoky vanillin oak, some meatiness and blackpepper end notes. Super rich the palate is densely textured with a mass of opulent liquorice, ripe black cherries and blackberries saturating the mouth over some dark chocolate, toasty vanillin oak and blackpepper. The tannin structure is quite robust yet largely camouflaged by the decadent richness of the fruit. Very powerful with a long conclusion of liquorice, black cherries, blackberries, toasty oak, dark chocolate and pepper.
