Ashton Hills Piccadilly Valley Pinot Noir has traditionally been a blend of fruit from Ashton Hills vineyard along with that of Jim Grigg's vineyard next to the cemetery near Uraidla in the Piccadilly Valley of the Adelaide Hills. The quality and yield of the 2013 vintage allowed winemaker and owner Stephen George to bottle two variants of this wine. Blend No. 1 is made only from Jim Grigg's Uraidla vineyard (Cemetery Block) whilst Blend No. 2 is a blend of Jim's and Stephen's fruit, as every Piccadilly Pinot Noir has been in the past.

Semi translucent dark red colour with some black tinges on the edges and crimson red hue. The nose has a vibrant youthful intensity about it with scents of violets interlaced with dark cherries followed by some dark strawberry, subtle dried meats and spice. The palate has a delicious savoury quality about it that makes it very appealing to drink in its youth. Light to medium weight the palate possesses supplely textured flavours of rich ripe dark cherries and dark strawberries which overlay a spicy background of subtle anise and dried meats. Beautifully integrated velvet smooth tannins. Excellent power wave with long spicy ripe dark cherry, subtle anise and dried meats aftertaste.
