The Wild Rock Wine Company is a producer of regionally diverse wines from a combination of owned, leased and contracted vineyards in Hawke's Bay, Martinborough, Marlborough and Central Otago. The 2012 releases combine quirky labeling with very expressive varietal wines. Brilliant very pale straw colour with watery hue. The nose on the Pinot Gris displays good intensity with lifted notes of ripe pear, tropical fruits and musk followed by some citrus. Mouthfilling palate flavours of ripe pear and tropical fruits followed by a touch of musk with some spice on the back palate. Clean medium dry finish with long ripe pear, tropical fruits, honeysuckle and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the summer while the acid is at its freshest, or during the next 1-2 years (2012-2014).
