Cellar: 6 - 8 Years (2023-2025)

A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6.5% Malbec, 4.5% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc aged for 18 months in French oak barriques (50% new and 50% one year old). Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Showing excellent intensity aromas of blackcurrant and a hint of liquorice are overlaid by some black olives, cigar box, earth and spice. On the palate superb rich blackcurrant fruit is underpinned by classic Bordeaux like cigar box characters and a sturdy tannin structure. Infusions of black olive following on over some scorched earth and spice. The tannins impart some dryness on the finish. Long aftertaste of blackcurrant, subtle liquorice infusions, cigar box, earthy black olives and spice.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 14%

Other Reviews….
Hand-picked, open-fermented, 27 days on skins, 18 months in French oak (50% new), when 6.5% malbec, 4.5% petit verdot and 3% cabernet franc were blended in. The time on skins has increased the tannin level significantly, but it remains in balance with the complex and intense suite of black fruit flavours. A carefully assembled wine with a great future. Drink by 2042.
