2012 Twinwoods Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

An Expressive, Richly flavoured Cabernet.

Matured in French oak barriques, 50% of which were new for almost 18 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red hue. Expressive aromas of ripe blackcurrant, mulberries and a hint of liquorice are overlaid by some cigar box characters with some subtle black olive, bay leaf and spicy cedar following. Medium to full bodied with more than ample richness the palate boasts ripe blackcurrant flavours over some liquorice and mulberry with ensuing toasty vanillin cedar, a hint of earth and spice. Very fine grained, solidly built tannin structure. Excellent length with a long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, subtle liquorice, cedary cigar box, lightly scorched earth and spice.
