2012 The Standish Shiraz

This wine pours a superb super saturated inky black purple colour with a very deep dark purple black hue. The nose offers up an intoxicating sniff of dark plums, blackberries, liquorice and subtle dark chocolates followed by some vanillin oak, confectionary and spice. The palate is all the nose would indicate and more delivering a powerful dose of decadently rich yet structurally refined fruit that sends the senses into overdrive. Explosive flavours of ripe blackberries and dark plums intermingle with dark chocolate nuances followed by a touch of liquorice with underlying vanillin oak, subtle mocha and spice. Magnificent power and depth of fruit with velvety yet firmly built tannins that are cleverly disguised beneath the waves of succulent fruit. A beautifully rounded opulent mouthfeel only makes this superb Barossa Shiraz even more addictive.
