2012 Te Kairanga Runholder Pinot Noir

Te Kairanga was established over 25 years ago and is one of Martinborough’s founding wineries. Maturation took place in French oak barriques for a period of 11 months. Semi translucent dark red colour with dark crimson red hue. On the nose an amalgam of ripe dark cherries, dark plum, toasty oak and anise arise from the glass with some spice end notes. Light to medium weight with good richness and a supple mouthfeel the palate delivers flavours of ripe dark cherries and dark plums which are dominate over a touch of anise and some spicy oak. Velvet smooth tannins. Long ripe dark cherry, dark plum and spicy oak aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years (2018-2019).
