Totally opaque inky black crimson colour with a deep dark crimson red hue. Showing excellent intensity aromas of ripe blackberries and liquorice intermixed with some choc mint waft from the glass with underlying vanillin cedar and spice. Medium to full in body weight and possessing ample richness balanced against an elegant velvety feel the palate boasts flavours of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark chocolate over some toasty vanillin cedar and subtle mint infusions. Very fine grained yet solidly built tannins provide the ideal framework. Long aftertaste of blackberries, liquorice, dark chocolate and minty lightly spiced vanillin cedar.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews…..
Deep, dense crimson-purple; estate-grown, from the hillside vines planted in '70. A wine of great class and elegance, with a seductive array of red and black cherry fruits, spice and pepper on its bouquet, precisely repeated on the supple, juicy, silky medium-bodied palate. So easy to enjoy now, most will be long since consumed prior to its notional best-by date. Drink by 2047.
