2012 Shiraz By Farr

Containing a 4% Viognier component this Shiraz displays an opaque dark red black colour with a bright dark crimson red hue. Quite funky the nose displays pronounced scents of black cherries, dark plum and liquorice intermixed with meaty characters and subtle fennel which overlay some smoky oak and spice. Medium weight, beautifully textured and quite rich the palate is graced with elegance and a supple mouthfeel. Generous flavours of dark cherries and dark plum are interlaced with fennel and meaty characters with a spicy smoky oak background. Excellent power and depth are coupled with velvety tannins. Long dark plum, fennel, smoked meats and spicy cedar aftertaste. A savoury and supple cool climate Shiraz.
