Saint Clair’s Block 3 vineyard rows are planted north-east to south-west, which leads to slightly greener characters in grapes on the south side and more tropical characters in grapes on the north facing side. The resulting wine is therefore multi-dimensional and complex. This is a cooler site and slower to ripen.

With their Pioneer Block Series of wines Saint Clair have established a reputation as one of New Zealand’s leading Sauvignon Blanc producers.

Brilliant watery like colour with light greenish tinge around the edges and watery hue. On the nose scents of passionfruit, citrus and green apple are overlaid by some herbaceous grassy gooseberry characters with a touch of mineral as an end note. The palate boasts superb flavour concentration and persistence with mouthfilling passionfruit and citrus followed by some gooseberry, herbaceous grassy characters and mineral. Clean crisp acid finish with very long passionfruit, herbaceous gooseberry, citrus and mineral aftertaste.
