Roaring Meg is the second label of Mount Difficulty and offers great value for money for a Central Otago Pinot Noir. Matured for 9 months in French oak the wine displays a semi translucent crimson to dark red colour with a faint tinge of black on the edges and a dark crimson red hue. Fragrant aromas of ripe dark cherries and strawberries are followed by some subtle anise, meatiness and spice. Light in body the palate has excellent richness and power with generous supplely textured flavours of ripe dark cherries, dark plums, strawberries and anise followed by some spicy toasty cedar on the back palate. Velvet smooth tannins. Long ripe dark cherry, anise and spicy toasted cedar aftertaste.
