2012 Paul Jaboulet Parellele 45 Cotes du Rhone

A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. Opaque dark red black colour with a dark crimson purple hue. Opening aromas of black raspberry are followed by some black cherries, incense, subtle earthiness and spice. Medium bodied the palate features succulent ripe black cherry and black raspberry flavours followed by a touch of liquorice, some meatiness and spice. Solid chewy tannins provide some grip on the finish but everything is in balance. Long aftertaste of black cherry, black raspberry, subtle liquorice and spicy dried meats.
