2012 Lake Breeze Cabernet Sauvignon

Winner of 2 trophies including Champion wine of the show at the 2014 Langhorne Creek Wine Show.

Situated on the Bremer Flood plain at Langhorne Creek this excellent Langhorne Creek Cabernet was produced from the Follett family’s 40 year old vines. Traditional open fermentation was employed followed by maturation in French oak barriques for 20 months, prior to bottling.

Totally opaque inky black dark purple colour with very deep dark purple black hue. The nose offers up lifted scents of blackcurrant, dark chocolate and minty bay leaf like notes over a background of cedar and spice. Medium to full bodied with abundant ripe blackcurrant richness the palate also possesses flavours of liquorice and some choc mint with spicy cedar on the back palate. Very fine grained verging on velvet like tannins. Good textural qualities with a long persistent ripe blackcurrant, mint and spicy cedar aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years (2019-2020).
