2012 Knight Granite Hills Merlot

A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a brick red hue. Nosing exhibits ripe red currant and mulberry scents followed by earthy tobacco notes and spicy cedar. Medium bodied the palate has a supple mouthfeel with fleshy flavours of ripe red currant and cherry melding into earth, vanillin cedar and spice followed by some distant leather characters. Fine grained, velvet like characters. Aftertaste of ripe red currants and cherries, earthy vanillin cedar and spicy leather.
